Description

Most buyers searching for a study writing desk are solving a width problem before they solve anything else. A bedroom wall, a dormitory bed, a classroom run or a hotel room desk each allow a different span, and a desk that is 20 cm too wide is a desk that comes back. This range answers that with two models built on the same material language: a 1.52 m solid wood writing desk for a full workstation, and a laminate computer table that is ordered by the centimetre across four widths and four depths.

The first model is the long one. Its top is solid wood with a thick, square block edge, and the grain runs the full 1.52 m rather than being printed onto a board. Each end stands on a matte black square-tube frame bent into an angular K profile: two diagonals that meet and branch, a leveling glide at each foot, and a rear stretcher tying the two ends together near the floor. A shallow cut-out at the rear centre of the top lets cables drop behind the desk instead of looping over the back edge. There are no drawers and no under-desk storage, which is deliberate: a study writing desk that is 1.52 m wide has to leave the whole span free for a chair, a monitor arm or two people sitting side by side.

The second model is the one that scales. It uses the same matte black steel language and the same wood-grain surface, but the top is a laminate board with rounded corners and the frame is a U-shaped sled at each end, closed by a rail that runs around the underside of the top. Height is fixed at 74 cm, and width and depth are chosen from a matrix that runs from 100 to 160 cm wide and 50 to 80 cm deep. That is what makes it a student desk for a school or a computer table for a home office: the same product can be specified as a 100 × 50 cm desk for a narrow bedroom and a 160 × 80 cm desk for a shared workspace, on one purchase order, in one finish.

Both models of study writing desk are flat-packed, both bolt together through pre-drilled positions, and both are quoted on the same terms: 20 to 50 pieces for regular colours, 100 pieces for special colours, mixed models accepted in one container, 25 to 35 days in production.

Key Features

  • Two frame architectures, one finish – an angular K-frame on the 1.52 m writing desk and a U-sled frame on the laminate computer table, both in matte black square tube.
  • 1.52 m continuous top – a study writing desk long enough for a monitor at one end and an open notebook at the other without moving anything.
  • Solid wood top on the long model – real grain and a thick block edge instead of a printed laminate repeat.
  • Laminate top with rounded corners – consistent colour across a school order, and no sharp corner at hip height.
  • 100–160 cm width, 50–80 cm depth – four widths and four depths at a fixed 74 cm height, so one range covers bedrooms, labs and shared desks.
  • Rear cable cut-out – a shallow opening at the back centre of the solid wood top takes monitor and charger cables off the work surface.
  • Rear stretcher on the long frame – the two ends are tied near the floor, which is what stops a 1.52 m span from rocking on an uneven floor.
  • Adjustable leveling glides – fitted to both frames so the desk sits flat on tile, laminate or old floorboards.
  • No drawers, full knee clearance – the underside stays open, so a chair tucks in and legs are not boxed in by a pedestal.
  • Flat pack with pre-drilled positions – frames bolt to the underside of the top; no measuring or drilling on site.

Specifications

Two models share one finish and one set of commercial terms; the difference is span, top material and frame pattern.

Materials & Finish

  • Solid wood top (Model A): a full-length solid wood panel with a warm mid-brown grain, finished with a thick square edge that shows the board thickness rather than hiding it behind a banding strip.
  • Laminate top (Model B): wood-grain laminate over a board core, cut with rounded corners and a thick profile so it reads as timber from standing height.
  • Steel frame: square-section tube, bent and welded into the K and U profiles, then powder-coated matte black. Matte black hides workshop scuffs better than gloss on a desk that gets moved.
  • Fasteners: visible hex bolts at the frame-to-top connection, which is what allows a study writing desk to be taken apart again for a move or a return.
  • Feet: adjustable leveling glides at every leg, plastic rather than bare tube end, so a laminate floor is not scratched and a slight slope is taken out.

Assembly & Installation

Every study writing desk in this range arrives flat-packed: top in one carton, frames and hardware bagged separately. The frames bolt to the underside of the top through pre-drilled positions, so there is no measuring, no marking and no drilling on site.

Model B goes together with one person and a screwdriver. Model A is a 1.52 m span and is quicker with two: one person holding each end while the rear stretcher is lined up keeps the frame square before the bolts are finalised.

Set the desk where it will live before final tightening, then adjust the glides until the top is level. On an old timber floor, check front to back as well as side to side; a 1.52 m top shows a twist that a 1 m desk hides.

Applications

  • Home study or bedroom – the 100 × 50 cm laminate computer table fits a wall that a 120 cm desk would crowd.
  • Dormitory or student room – a 120 × 60 cm study writing desk leaves bed and wardrobe space on the same floor plan.
  • School computer lab or training room – 140 cm and 160 cm laminate desks in one colour, ordered together, with rounded corners in a room full of students.
  • Shared or two-person desk – the 1.52 m solid wood top takes two chairs when a room has to seat two people at one surface.
  • Hotel room, apartment or serviced flat – a study writing desk that has to read as furniture rather than office kit.
  • Distributor or e-commerce range – two models and sixteen laminate size combinations from a single supplier, on one page.

FAQs

Q: What is the difference between the two models?

A: Model A is a 1.52 m study writing desk with a solid wood top and an angular K-frame at each end. Model B is a laminate computer table offered in four widths and four depths at a fixed 74 cm height, on a U-sled frame. The finish is the same; the span, the top material and the frame pattern are not.

Q: Can I mix widths in one order?

A: Yes. The 100, 120, 140 and 160 cm laminate desks share one frame system and one finish, so they can be mixed in a single container on one packing list, and Model A can be added to the same order.

Q: Solid wood or laminate — which should I choose?

A: Choose solid wood when the desk goes into a home, a hotel room or a showroom where the grain is part of the sale. Choose laminate when the desks go into a school, a training room or a computer lab, where every unit has to match the one beside it and the order is large.

Q: What is the minimum order and lead time?

A: 20 to 50 pieces for regular colours and 100 pieces for special colours, with mixed models accepted. Production runs 25 to 35 days depending on quantity, and samples are available first.

Q: Do the desks arrive assembled?

A: No. Every study writing desk in the range is flat-packed and bolts together through pre-drilled positions with the supplied hardware; Model B needs one person, and Model A is easier with two because of the 1.52 m span.
